The resistivity of CR20NI30 industrial-grade NiCr and NiCrFe alloys is 1.04 ± 0.05 μΩ·m. Although slightly lower than high-nickel alloys, its temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) exhibits excellent linearity. In industrial power control, this means that extremely high temperature control accuracy can be achieved through simple voltage regulation. Its thermal conductivity is 43.8 kJ/m·h·°C. When used as a high-power braking resistor (such as in rail transit and crane deceleration), the lower thermal conductivity, combined with a high specific heat capacity (0.5 J/g·°C), allows the alloy to instantaneously absorb a large amount of kinetic energy converted into heat without causing localized melting.
