The 1CR21AL4 large-diameter iron-chromium-aluminum alloy has a chromium content ranging from 17.0% to 21.0%. In a high-chromium environment, the oxide film formed on the alloy surface is not only of moderate thickness but also possesses extremely high resistivity. This film exhibits a very low ion migration rate at the maximum continuous operating temperature of 1100°C, effectively inhibiting further oxidative degradation of the metal substrate. The processing challenge for large-diameter materials lies in the internal stress during bending. 1Cr21Al4 maintains an elongation rate of over 12%, allowing engineers to process heavy-gauge wires into U-shaped, corrugated, or helical large-diameter coils without frequent intermediate annealing.
